Alwar Pharmacy College, Alwar, conducted a week long activities (debate, oral presentations, poster presentations, endowment lectures and blood donation) were from 21-25 November 2008, in the theme of this year is :
“Ask Your Pharmacist : For Safe Use of Prescription Medicines”.

The celebrations of National Pharmacy Week -2008 started with the three day sports events from November 21 to November 23. Both indoor and outdoor games (carom, chess, badminton, cricket etc) were organised with enthusiastic participation of students and faculties.

Chief Guests :

• Sh. S.P. Garg, Director, IET Group of Institutions,

• Sh. Ajay Sharma (Zone Business Manager, Sandoz Novartis Pvt. Ltd.),

• Sh. Gopal Kumar (Assistant Drug Controller, Alwar) and

• Sh. Gunal Hans (Area Sales Manager, Aventis, Alwar)

inaugurated the function and addressed august gathering about various career aspects in the profession of Pharmacy.

Activities performed during Pharmacy Week 2008 :

• Thirty five students participated in the voluntary "Blood Donation Camp" organised in association with the Rajiv Gandhi Rajkiya Chikitsalya, Alwar on 24^th November 2008.

• The Valedictory function preceded by a silent “Pharma Rally”, in which about 300 students and teachers took part. The rally was flagged off by Dr. G. Jeyabalan, Principal, Alwar Pharmacy College. The main motto of the rally was, to aware the people about the safe use of medicines.

• On 25^th November 2008, a Rangoli competition was arranged for students and the week long celebrations were concluded with the cultural night, "VICIO - 08" which included songs, dance, skit, laughter shows and finally the prize distribution ceremony by the Chairman, Dr. V. K. Agarwal.
